The historic Silver Dome Ballroom is pleased to present its fifteenth annual Blues Party, so named in honor of the late, great Hubert Sumlin, the legendary Howlin’ Wolf guitarist and Rock & Roll Hall of Famer, who was booked to play the inaugural Blues Party in 2011. Sadly, Hubert was hospitalized a couple of days before that show and never played again, passing away a few months later. Blues Party was the name of Hubert’s first solo recording following Howlin’ Wolf’s death and we’ve kept the name to honor Hubert’s memory.

This year’s party features the following outstanding artists:

THE ALTERED FIVE BLUES BAND – Hailing from Milwaukee, WI, Blind Pig Records recording artists, The Altered Five Blues Band, have established a reputation as one of the best Blues bands in the entire Midwest and beyond over the course of their twenty plus year career. Fronted by vocalist Jeff Taylor, whose style evokes Howlin’ Wolf and other Blues greats but is decidedly his own, and featuring highly regarded guitarist, Jeff Schroedl, AFBB is a quintet that writes and performs original Blues music in a hard-hitting, powerful style. Their various recordings and outstanding performances have earned them numerous national Blues Foundation BMA (Blues Music Award) nominations and awards, many WAMI awards (Wisconsin Area Music Industry), and countless rave reviews in local and national publications far and wide. Area Blues fans are eagerly awaiting their debut performance at the historic Silver Dome Ballroom.

DUWAYNE BURNSIDE & KENNY BROWN TRIO – These Mississippi Blues legends are best known to Blues fans for their connection with Hill Country Blues legend, R.L. Burnside, Duwayne as R.L.’s incredibly talented son, himself an accomplished singer-songwriter and guitarist, and Kenny as R.L.’s guitar foil. Duwayne enjoyed a successful tenure with the North Mississippi Allstars, including the Grammy nominated Polaris album on which he was featured, and has since enjoyed a solo career fronting his own band. Kenny has kept himself busy as a featured player on numerous Dan Auerbach-produced projects, including the Black Keys’ Delta Kream, and recent releases by Robert Finley and Hank Williams, Jr. Duwayne and Kenny have recently decided to recreate the R.L. Burnside format of two guitars and drums (Jason Wilburn) for select gigs. Recreating history and history in-the-making, not to be missed!

MIKE MUNSON – Winona, MN resident, Mike Munson, has released numerous albums, has toured throughout the country, and is regarded as one of the Midwest’s finest Blues guitarists, singer-songwriters and performers. Mike will play a couple of solo sets from high atop our “Cooler Stage,” opening the proceedings sometime after 6:30 and playing a second set in between the mail stage acts.

Located 5 miles west of Neillsville (WI) on U.S. Hwy 10, the Silver Dome is listed in the National
Register of Historic Places for its unique architecture and its rich entertainment history.

Annual Halloween Costume Party hosted by Marcia and Jerry Gross. Music by the Riverside Hitmen. Costumes highly encouraged!
